Easynet is a specialist telecommunications business that designs and manages data networks.

Easynet is a leading managed service provider with over twenty years’ experience delivering integrated networks, hosting and unified communications services to national, international and global customers.

In 2010, Easynet announced its sale from BSkyB (Sky) to LDC for £100million.

Easynet has been a leader in highly sophisticated managed networks and hosting, and since it joined the BSkyB family in 2006 it has grown by over 40%.

LDC and the management team knew there was a untapped global demand for Easynet’s unique value proposition.

LDC strengthened the board with the appointment of Hanif Lalani, former CEO of BT Global Services as a Non-Executive Director.

Sky and LDC entered into a long-term supply agreement to grant Easynet continued access to Sky’s national fibre network in the UK, which continues to support the fast-growing Sky Broadband and Sky Talk services. BSkyB continued to be a business customer of Easynet.

In 2013 Easynet was acquired by MDNX Group. The combined forces of Easynet and MDNX created the largest independent network and hosting integrator in Europe: MDNX can further develop its business outside the UK, establishing a strong footprint in Europe, whilst Easynet benefits from the strength and great reputation of MDNX in the public sector market and its impressively structured back office automation, business systems and carrier integration business model.

LDC reinvested in the newly formed Group to acquire a minority stake alongside MDNX management as well as continuing to support Easynet’s German managed hosting business Nexinto which was not part of the MDNX merger.

In October 2015 LDC exited its minority investment in Easynet following the completion of its acquisition by Interoute. The sale to Interoute delivered a money multiple of 2.2x for LDC.
