IDSL Group: a partnership that opened new doors to growth

Integrated Doorset Solutions (IDSL) Group is a specialist, compliance-led fire door solutions provider bringing together manufacturing, inspection, maintenance and associated fire door services.

Founded in 2016, the Mansfield-based business has long-standing customer relationships across sectors including healthcare, education and commercial and residential property.

Opening doors to growth

LDC backed the existing management team, led by Founder and CEO Ash Malhan, in May 2024 to support the business’ ambitious growth strategy.

During the two-year partnership, LDC supported the growth of the business through organic investment and strategic acquisitions. These included the acquisition of Hartland Fire in November 2024, broadening its capabilities in compliance services within defence estates, and the acquisition of Fire Doors Rite, a specialist provider of fire door inspection, maintenance and installation services, in January 2026.

The business also invested significantly in its people, technology and footprint to meet the needs of its expanding customer base, including opening a new 20,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility in Mansfield.

LDC’s investment in IDSL Group won ‘Medium Deal of the Year’ at the East Midlands Rainmaker Awards 2024 and its acquisition of Hartland Fire won ‘Small Deal of the Year’ at the East Midlands Rainmaker Awards 2025.

IDSL Group also strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Adrian Ringrose as Non-Executive Chair, and Brian Talbot as a Non-Executive Director. Andrew Gratton also joined the Group in August 2025 as Chief Operating Officer. Adrian was previously Non-Executive Chair of Churches Fire & Security, while Andrew joined from global manufacturer ams OSRAM.

ESG progress

IDSL made meaningful progress on its environmental, social and governance agenda. It achieved ISO 14064 accreditation to establish a clear baseline for carbon measurement, introduced a new fleet emissions reduction programme and enhanced waste management processes in line with new national recycling legislation.

IDSL also maintained its FSC certification following a successful audit, demonstrating that the timber used in its products is responsibly sourced from well-managed forests, and expanded its community engagement through new partnerships with local education providers and grassroots sports teams. Internally, the business has invested in employee development with a wide range of accredited training programmes in leadership, health and safety and core skills.

The next stage of growth

In August 2026, LDC exited its investment in IDSL to Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG), following a successful two-year partnership during which revenue increased by 73% to £60m, headcount grew by 70% from 286 to 485, and EBITDA nearly trebled to £14m.
