Q&A
What are your ambitions for this business?
We’re already in Europe but I’m ambitious to go global. There are a lot of brands out there that want to get rid of unnecessary packaging. We want to be the best in the world at helping the biggest brands think about sustainable packaging and make insightful decisions that save them money and help the environment.
Tell me about your proudest achievement
We are pioneering schemes that help brands shift away from single-use packaging. We’re working with UWE Bristol (University of the West of England) to swap all the coffee cups on campus to reusable ones. We will collect, wash and return the cups to the coffee shops and finally prove to the world’s leading coffee chains that there is an economically viable model to switch away from disposable to refillable alternatives.
What drives you?
I play tennis and sport teaches you that by making small incremental improvements, you can achieve dramatic change. I joined a business that wasn’t broken – it wasn’t a turnaround. But I want to make it even better. First, we went from being a broad compliance scheme to a specialist in packaging, then I introduced data and intelligence. We’re in a small niche but I want to be the best in the world.
