Ultimately, it’s about improving care and saving lives.”

Q&A

Where will growth come from?

We have spent more than two decades developing a model that allows specialist healthcare services to be built successfully within NHS hospitals rather than alongside them. We bring investment, infrastructure and operational expertise, but work as part of the hospital’s clinical ecosystem. That means the NHS retains the strength of its existing brand, clinicians and facilities while gaining additional capacity and capability.

The model is highly scalable, and we now have a strong pipeline of new partnerships. Having proved it in cardiology, the next stage is to apply the same approach to other complex specialties where NHS hospitals need additional capital, capacity and specialist operating expertise.

How do you make a social impact?

For me, social impact starts with the work itself. If we can increase NHS capacity, shorten waiting times and deliver care more efficiently, there is a direct benefit to patients and to the taxpayer. Over the years, we estimate our partnership model has saved the NHS around £150 million.

Beyond healthcare, we are also a strong supporter of the Armed Forces community and were awarded the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in 2025. Being based in Salisbury has brought us particularly close to the Gurkha community, and we are now exploring a longer-term partnership to support serving Gurkha soldiers and their families.

What drives you?

My parents came to Britain from India in the 1960s and rebuilt their lives from very little. They worked extraordinarily hard and made many sacrifices to give my brother and me opportunities they had never had themselves.

They have both now passed away, but I still feel a responsibility to make something worthwhile of the opportunity they gave me.

Of course I want to build a successful company, but commercial success on its own has never been enough, it is a means to an end. What matters to me is building something that improves people’s lives, contributes to society and leaves something worthwhile behind.
