LDC wins two awards at the South West Dealmakers Awards 2026

LDC’s South West and Wales team picked up Private Equity Team of the Year and Large Deal of the Year (£25m+) for its exit of Hybrid.

The awards, held last night at the Delta Hotels Bristol City Centre, celebrated the last 12 months of dealmaking and deals in the region.

The team was awarded Private Equity Firm of the Year, reflecting its high-quality deal activity and sustained regional commitment. Alongside its investment activity, the team has continued to support charities across the South West and Wales, reflecting its broader commitment to the communities.

The judges applauded the team’s exit of Hybrid, as Large Deal of the Year, for not only achieving an exceptional return but also for ‘bringing together local advisors to create a real community effort on the deal.’ LDC exited the business in January 2026 following a highly successful four-year partnership that delivered significant growth, more than quadrupling revenue and tripling headcount and international expansion.

Dewi Hughes, Partner and Head of South West and Wales at LDC, was also named in the top three for the Dealmaker Lifetime Achievement Award, a one-off award celebrating one individual who has made an outstanding impact on the dealmaking landscape over the last two decades. During 10 years at LDC, Dewi has led 15 investments in the region, with a combined EV of over £500m, and helped a wide range of ambitious businesses to grow.
