LDC wins three awards at Yorkshire Rainmakers Awards 2026

LDC’s Yorkshire team took home three awards at the Yorkshire Rainmakers Awards last night, scooping Changemaker of the Year, Private Equity Team of the Year, and Large Deal of the Year (£50m+).

The awards, held at New Dock Hall in Leeds, brought together the region’s deals community to celebrate the standout deals, teams and individuals of the past 12 months.

 Jayne Dunford, Senior PA, was awarded Changemaker of the Year, recognising her impact over more than 25 years, both within LDC and across the wider community. Jayne leads all charitable activity for LDC across Yorkshire, working closely with organisations including Smart Works, Candlelighters, Maggie’s and Martin House Children’s Hospice. Jayne also leads LDC’s national charity quiz, which has raised £2.1m to date, and has built a strong PA network across the corporate finance community to support personal and professional development.

LDC’s Yorkshire team was named Private Equity Team of the Year, reflecting continued momentum in the region and the breadth of support they provide to management teams.  During the qualifying period, the team invested in ARC Building Solutions (ARC), a provider of passive fire protection and thermal solutions for the built environment, and exited and reinvested in UniHomes, a student accommodation advertising platform, in a transaction that delivered a 4.8x return for LDC following two years of significant growth.

The team also won Large Deal of the Year (£50m+) for its exit and reinvestment in UniHomes. LDC backed UniHomes’ management team, led by Phil Greaves, Bradley Cox and Luca Mori, in July 2023 with a minority investment. Since then, the Sheffield-based business has grown revenue by 75%, increased its nationwide locations from 41 to more than 60+, launched in Scotland, and increased employee headcount by 65%. UniHomes also invested in its platform, sales, marketing, and launched several new initiatives to benefit students, including free 24/7 access to mental, financial and physical wellbeing support.
