LDC was named Private Equity Team of the Year at the East Midlands Rainmaker Awards last night and the team also took home Small Deal of the Year (up to £10m) for IDSL’s acquisition of Hartland Fire.
The awards, hosted by The Business Desk, took place in Nottingham in front of an audience of 300 professionals, and celebrated the successes from the past 12 months.
LDC’s East Midlands and East of England team, led by Partner and Head of the East Midlands and East of England, David Bains, completed six transactions during the qualifying period, including its investment in battery power specialist Power Saving Solutions, and its successful exits from Blis to T-Mobile, ENSEK to Centrica and the Edwin Group to Quad Partners. In addition, the team supported Littlefish’s acquisition of Storm Technology, a leading business technology consultancy, and IDSL’s acquisition of Hartland Fire, a passive fire product and service business.
The team was also awarded Small Deal of the Year (up to £10m) for IDSL’s acquisition of Hartland Fire which broadened its capabilities in compliance services within defence estates and was delivered within six months of the original investment.
Over the year, the team has continued give back to its community by supporting local charitable causes. It regularly works with local foodbanks and has raised over £22,000 to date for When You Wish Upon a Star – a charity that has been fulfilling the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses since 1990.
LDC extends its congratulations to all companies and individuals who won or were shortlisted at the East Midlands Rainmaker Awards 2025. You can view the full list of winners here.
