LDC technology sector dinner highlights growth opportunities

This week, LDC brought together over 40 leaders from across the UK technology sector for an exclusive dinner. Guests included leaders from software and tech-services businesses within LDC’s portfolio and the wider national technology market, alongside many experienced Non-Executive Directors and Chairs. They were joined by investors from LDC’s Technology sector team, creating a unique opportunity for insight and collaboration.
Alongside networking, the evening included a Q&A with guest speaker Colin Smith, Non-Executive Chair at LDC-backed BCIS. Colin was previously Non-Executive Chair of NBS during LDC’s successful partnership, and is an experienced Non-Executive, supporting a range of technology businesses, particularly in the global construction software sector. Prior to becoming a plural Chair, Colin ran and exited multiple software businesses as CEO over an executive career spanning more than 30 years.
The Q&A gave guests insight into:
- Colin’s journey from his family-owned business routes through to leading some of the UK’s largest construction software businesses
- Why working with private equity can be an attractive route to growth
- How the role of Non-Executive Chair differs to CEO
