LDC exits UniHomes following transformational two-year growth journey

LDC, the leading private equity investor, has exited its investment in UniHomes following two years of significant growth. LDC is reinvesting in the student accommodation advertising platform alongside new investor Macquarie Capital, the principal investment arm of Macquarie Group.
This latest round of investment will support UniHomes’ continued expansion through both organic and acquisition driven growth, enabling the business to enhance its technology and broaden its customer offering to both existing and new partners. The investment will accelerate expansion to other markets including purpose-built student accommodation, build-to-rent and professional sharers.
LDC backed UniHomes’ management team, led by Phil Greaves, Bradley Cox and Luca Mori, in July 2023 with a minority investment. Since then, the Sheffield-based business has grown revenue by 75% and the transaction generates a return of 4.8x for LDC.
UniHomes has driven growth through significant UK expansion, and this letting season will see it partner with over 1,000+ letting agents and operators. With LDC’s support, it has increased its nationwide locations from 41 to more than 60+, launched in Scotland, and increased employee headcount by 65%. UniHomes also invested in its platform, sales, marketing, and launched several new initiatives to benefit students, including free 24/7 access to mental, financial and physical wellbeing support.

The transaction was led by Partner and Head of Yorkshire Dan Smith and Investment Director James Marshall and supported by Investment Manager Ana-Maria Garaba.
