In July 2006 LDC backed the management buy-out of BigHand and subsequently sold to Bridgepoint Development Capital ('BDC') in a £49million transaction in May 2012.

LDC has reinvested alongside BDC and the management team for a minority shareholding.

The software has proved particularly popular in the legal sector with BigHand servicing over 400 law firm clients. The business also supplies its product to leading names in the accountancy and property management professions and is seeing increased adoption amongst medical practitioners.
