Chris Baker

Chris is a Partner in the South team and is responsible for identifying management teams looking to grow their business with the support of a private equity partner. Based in Reading, he works side-by-side with management throughout the investment partnership to help them realise their growth ambitions.

Chris focuses on the technology sector and since joining LDC in 2015 has led the investments in cloud platform Creative ITC, Oracle specialist DSP, cloud data platform Aker Systems, e-commerce fulfilment platform J&J Global Fulfilment, recruitment software and services platform Amberjack, HR software provider CIPHR and advanced filtration specialist BOFA International. Chris has also led the successful exits of CIPHR to ECI Partners, BOFA to Donaldson Inc, Aker Systems to Abry Partners and J&J Global to QLS, after supporting these businesses to deliver earnings growth of more than 80% p.a and generating an average IRR of 90%.

Chris also supported Property Software Group on its exit to Zoopla plc and played an important role in LDC’s partnership and subsequent exit of Microlease to Electrorent Corp after the business expanded overseas through six acquisitions. In total, the businesses Chris has supported on exit had more than £1bn of combined value.

Chris attended Reed Business School and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2004, before spending 10 years as an M&A Director in Grant Thornton’s Technology sector team.
