Forest Holidays has luxurious woodland holiday cabins set in nine Forestry Commission estates across the UK.

All of Forest Holidays’ cabin sites are eco and environmentally sensitive and occupy picturesque woodland or lakeside locations, providing the perfect setting for UK holidays and weekend breaks.

With an emphasis on luxury facilities and high quality accommodation, cabins sleep between two and ten people, in a mixture of single storey, two storey and tree house accommodation. The majority of cabins have private outdoor hot tubs, as well as indoor log burning stoves and under floor heating. Forest Holidays suit couples, families and groups travelling at all times of the year.

In September 2012 LDC completed a significant investment to support the management buyout and future new site roll-out of Forest Holidays, specialists in exclusive rural holiday accommodation.

In 2013 LDC supported further growth of Forest Holidays with follow-on funding for new site expansion in Hampshire.

2016 saw Forest Holiday's management team pick up the BVCA Management Team of the Year award for 'Social Responsibility'. The business plants at least twice as many trees as it removes, building each cabin with certified FSC timber, and an independent report suggested the business generates around £2million for each local economy in which it operates.

Since the original investment LDC has supported the roll-out of 258 new accommodation cabins across the Forest of Dean, Sherwood Forest and Thorpe Forest.

LDC’s approach has been what I call ‘loose-tight’, in that they’ve been very involved in strategic planning, budgeting and major capex investment decisions, whilst recognising that they’re backing a very able management team. LDC recognised early that it’s about giving that team space, the “freedom to succeed,” and getting involved at the right times. Peter Phillipson, Non-Executive Chairman, Forest Holidays
