LDC has been named as the winner of the Tech Investor Award at the UK Tech Awards 2025. The awards, celebrated in London on 13th November, recognise success and achievements in the UK tech sector over the last 12 months.
The Tech Investor Award recognises investors that demonstrate an ability to identify new and existing commercial opportunities across the sector, with a commitment and passion for the industry. Winners are recognised for understanding value creation and possessing a long-term vision to help businesses grow.
In 2025, LDC invested in Shoptimised, a performance marketing agency that helps retailers to increase online sales. The business has seen strong growth in recent years as more businesses look to enhance the performance of their eCommerce marketplaces amid rising demand, and LDC’s investment will support Shoptimised’s ambitious growth strategy.
LDC also exited its initial two-year partnership with student accommodation advertising platform Unihomes, reinvesting for a minority stake to support the continued growth of the business. The transaction generated a return of 4.8x for LDC. During the initial two-year partnership, UniHomes grew revenue by 75%, increased its nationwide locations from 41 to more than 60+, and increased employee headcount by 65%.
LDC has also supported its wider technology portfolio with a number of strategic acquisitions including 15below, the market leader in personalised, automated passenger communications for the global airline industry, that acquired Airport AI, a leading conversational AI platform.
Chris Baker, Partner at LDC said: “We’re pleased to be recognised by the UK Tech Awards as a successful investor in technology businesses. At LDC, we partner with some of the UK’s most ambitious management teams, and we look forward to continuing to support their growth journeys”
LDC has a successful track record of investment in the technology sector, investing over £755m in the last decade, with a diverse range of 21 businesses in the current technology portfolio. In the same time period, LDC has generated an average 3.7x return across its exited technology investments.
