Last week, LDC’s 18th Annual Charity Quiz took place across eight cities across the country, supporting eight worthwhile local charities chosen by our teams.
The LDC Charity Quiz remains a much-anticipated fixture in our calendar. This year’s event saw almost 200 teams from across our network gather for an evening of friendly competition, all in the name of charity.
This year’s quiz has already raised nearly £150,000, with donations still coming in. This brings the total raised since the Quiz’s inception to over £2.1 million, with every pound directly supporting charities that are close to our hearts and making a genuine difference in communities across the country.
This year, funds raised in Birmingham supported the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity one of the UK’s leading paediatric centres and the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre. In Nottingham, proceeds went to When You Wish Upon A Star helping grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Reading’s contributions benefitted Camp Mohawk, a haven where children and young people with special needs can learn, grow and reach their potential.
In London, we proudly supported London’s Air Ambulance. Manchester’s efforts aided the poverty-relief work of Wood Street Mission while Newcastle’s event raised funds for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust which provides support for young cancer patients and their families. Leeds contributed generously to Martin House Children’s Hospice which offers family-led care for children and young people, and in Bristol, donations went to the UK’s leading dementia charity Alzheimer’s Society.
Congratulations to AON (Birmingham), EY (Manchester), AON (Leeds), Bishopsgate Corporate Finance (Nottingham), KPMG (Bristol), HMT (Reading), Clarity (London) and Aspire (Newcastle) who were crowned this year’s regional winners.
The ongoing success of The LDC Charity Quiz is only possible thanks to the support and generosity of everyone involved – from the competitive teams and those who donate prizes, to the individuals who buy raffle tickets or help spread the word.
We’re already looking forward with excitement to Scotland’s Quiz in January, where we’ll be raising funds for Greggs Foundation.
On behalf of everyone at LDC and the charities supported, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who took part and contributed.
