World-renowned endurance cyclist and LDC corporate ambassador Mark Beaumont has broken a 127-year-old British record, this time on a Penny Farthing.
Mark completed 21.92 miles in an hour on the Penny Farthing to set a new British record, beating the previous record of 21.10 miles which has remained intact since 1891.
He was aiming to break the current world record (22 miles) at Herne Hill Velodrome on Friday, however missed out by only 290 yards.
Last year, Mark achieved international recognition after smashing world records to become the fastest person to cycle 80,000 miles around the globe in just 78 days, shaving an astonishing 44 days off the previous record holder.
