Lucid Group completes the acquisition of HealthCare21

Lucid Group is delighted to announce its latest acquisition, welcoming colleagues from Healthcare consultancy HEALTHCARE 21 into its magic kingdom.

Over the last twelve years, Lucid Group has become well known and admired as an industry leader in providing medical communication that transforms patients’ lives.  Currently it has five family members within its Group; Bluedog, Leading Edge, Lighthouse, Lucid Partners and ViVid, all of which comprise uniquely talented individuals with a vision to deliver life changing value for clients and patients.

Similarly, HealthCare21 has been producing remarkable healthcare materials and programmes for its clients, reaching and engaging healthcare audiences for over 23 years.  The team has exceptional skills in scientific strategy, content creation, editorial excellence and digital design – capabilities that Lucid Group needs every day as it crafts impactful client campaigns.

Both Lucid Group and HealthCare21 clients will experience significant benefits from this new relationship with direct access to diverse, larger teams, cutting-edge editorial expertise, an immediate larger footprint in the North West of the UK, with an ambition to build rapidly, taking advantage of the wealth of Healthcare communications talent based in this location. The presence of offices in Singapore and Dubai will also allow expansion into these geographies; which will benefit our global clients.

Teams from Lucid Group and HealthCare21 gathered today to celebrate the launch of this new partnership.  2019 is set to be a transformative year for Lucid Group, backed by its private equity partner LDC, it has big ambitions to continue to increase capability and reach by bringing even more magic to the mix through future acquisitions.

Dennis O’Brien, Lucid Co-founder and CEO commented, “This is a perfect match and builds on Lucid’s leadership position in medical communication. We have developed a reputation for excellent strategic consultancy, impactful medcomms, digital excellence and creative execution. HealthCare21 brings further scientific and editorial expertise to increase our offering to our clients and bring more opportunities for our teams.  With a strong cultural alignment, HealthCare21’s talent and capability will be instrumental in enhancing our audience reach and engagement, helping transform lives. This brings us ever closer to our vision of changing patients’ lives through communication.”

Cliff Wyatt, HealthCare21 Managing Director commented, “I am delighted that HealthCare21 is joining Lucid Group.  With our strongest ever year in 2018, this is a good time for us to capitalise on this momentum, benefit from better infrastructure and additional capabilities like behaviour change and establish ourselves further as partner of choice for our clients. HealthCare21’s focus on great content and innovative digital solutions marries really well with Lucid’s offering.”

Christian Bruning, LDC Director, commented, “Under Dennis’s leadership, Lucid continues to increase its reach and diversify its service offering through strategic complementary acquisitions. This is Lucid’s second acquisition this year after creative digital consultancy Bluedog joined the group in February. It represents another positive step in the firm’s ambitious strategy to expand overseas and establish itself as a leading international provider of healthcare communications.”
