Softbox Systems should be a household name, yet most people haven’t heard of the Thame-based packaging company. It works with pharmaceutical giants such as Pfizer to make sure temperature-sensitive drugs arrive in perfect condition.
“We move millions of vaccines all over the world,” says managing director Richard Jones. “If you go to the doctor’s, the chances are that the drugs you are prescribed may have been delivered using one of our boxes.”
With a global network of offices, the company is expanding internationally as well as moving rapidly into new markets, such as home delivery of medicines. The firm is forecasting a turnover of £45m in 2017 and is growing at an average of 20pc each year.
