Queen's award success for LDC-backed businesses

Three LDC-backed businesses have been awarded a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

The awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in international trade, innovation or sustainable development, are one of the highest official accolades for British businesses.

CMS Window Systems, Scotland’s leading provider of 360-degree building envelope solutions to the commercial construction and social housing sectors, was recognised for its outstanding achievements in environmental, social and economic sustainable practices.

The Cumbernauld-based business provides products and services which help reduce the carbon footprint of homes and buildings, while at the same time operating in a resource-efficient way that generates virtually no landfill waste thanks to its extensive in-house recycling facilities.

Leading designer and manufacturer of fume extraction systems, BOFA International, was meanwhile awarded the accolade in the innovation category. Its revolutionary Intelligent Operating (iQ) system, which was first launched in 2012, improves extraction efficiency, reduces the risk of production downtime and lowers the lifetime cost of technology ownership.

ADEY, Europe’s largest water treatment manufacturer in the domestic and commercial heating sectors, also received an award for innovation, for its range of high performance chemicals. This marks the firm’s second Queen’s Award to date.

The business was also awarded Commercial Product of the Year for its Dual XP range at the Heating and Ventilation Awards.
