Mark is responsible for ensuring LDC continues to support the growth ambitions of businesses across Scotland. This includes identifying ambitious management teams that would benefit from private equity investment and ensuring they have the right partner to help them realise their growth strategy.

Since joining LDC in 2012, he has helped a broad range of exciting, fast-growing businesses across the country realise their ambitions. This includes supporting the expansion of Aberdeen’s Duncan and Todd Group following LDC’s £15million investment in the business in March 2018 and he played a key role in LDC’s partnership with CMS Windows, having helped management increase EBITDA by 50% in two years.

Mark holds a degree in Maths and Statistics from The University of Glasgow, a diploma in actuarial mathematics from Herriot Watt University and an MBA from Strathclyde Business School. He started his professional career as an actuary for Scottish Provident in Madrid and Edinburgh, after which he joined 3i plc for 15 years, where he gained a private equity specialism through his work supporting the UK energy sector.

As Chair of the Aberdeen Sports Village, I’m really passionate about sports in the North East of Scotland. When I’m not cycling, or kitesurfing, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and three lovely daughters.
