Today the region is home to some of the country’s most dynamic, innovative companies, and we are seeing a renewed confidence in the region’s business community, despite the ongoing spectre of uncertainty.
At LDC we’ve seen a strong start to 2017 in the North West, having backed management buyouts at Fishawack, ChargePoint Technology and Hill Biscuits.
Having invested more than £250m and completed 13 new transactions out of the Manchester office alone in the last three years, we’re seeing a healthy pipeline of growth firms with high-quality investment potential coming our way.
We also recognise that our ability to realise value for all shareholders is the ultimate test.
Our Manchester office has generated more than £285m of exit proceeds (2014-2016), having successfully exited investments in Synexus, Waterfall and New World Trading Company.
We see the opportunity that exists here and we’ve moved to strengthen our team with two new senior hires in Guy Bagshaw and John Clarke, who both join LDC as experienced investment directors, making ours one of the largest private equity investment teams in the North West.
The North West business landscape distinguishes itself in its diversity, with strength in everything from financial services to heavy engineering, and it is this variety that helps make it so vibrant. Our appetite for backing ambitious management teams remains stronger than ever.
