LDC is supporting ambitious young athletes at Birchfield Harriers Athletic Club in Birmingham, some of which are hoping to represent Great Britain and compete at the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Our partnership, now in its eight year, focuses on its Junior Development Programme and has helped almost 100 athletes since 2011.
2018 was the most successful year of our partnership to date with three LDC-supported athletes competing in junior and youth international competitions: Kaie Chambers-Brown (100/200m) was part of the World Juniors team and Cassie-Ann Pemberton (100/200m) and Jordan Ricketts (110m Hurdles) both went to the European Youth Championships.
In 2019, our partnership will provide 25 young athletes with the financial support to train, develop and compete as they work towards their dream of becoming an international athlete and for some competing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
