Six portfolio firms in list of Britain's biggest private companies

We were delighted to see six LDC portfolio companies feature in the latest Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table - a ranking of Britain's private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales.

Ranked 2nd in the league table was recruitment group Pertemps Network Group. The business formed in 2012 when Pertemps merged with Network Group, an AIM-listed company, in a £20m management buyout backed by LDC. With sales of more than £610m the business is achieving year on year growth.

Ranked 70th is MKM Building Supplies, one of Britain's largest independent builders' merchants. Benefitting from stronger construction activity, sales are up 18% to £251.9m in 2015. LDC took a minority stake in MKM Building Supplies in 2006.

Ranked 186th is LDC portfolio company CitySprint. The logistics providers has an ongoing buy & build growth strategy, and in February this year LDC acquired a minority stake alongside existing investor Dunedin, valuing the business at £175m.

Other LDC portfolio companies featured include MyDentist (8th), Zenith (33rd) and NRS Healthcare (208th).
