A Star-Studded Night Awaits – by Chris Hurley

The Evening Standard Business Awards are just around the corner.

On 30th June, the great and good of London’s business community will convene at Tobacco Dock in the City to find out who has won the inaugural accolades.

The CBI’s Director General Carolyn Fairbairn will be on hand as the keynote speaker and help us reflect on what has been another inspiring year for business in London.

The shortlists across the 10 categories reflect the wealth of talent that calls the Capital its home.

Thursday night will see the likes of Pure Gym founder Peter Roberts compete against Jasper Cuppaidge, the man behind Camden Town Brewery, as well as Thread’s Kieran O’Neill and Jo Malone of perfumery Jo Loves. All embodying the determined spirit of London’s entrepreneurial class.

Meanwhile, the SME Business of the Year Award – an award that we are supporting – offers an insight into the army of small businesses that are the very fabric of commerce in the Capital. Between Fever-Tree, FinnCap, Silent Pool Distillers and Nature Delivered, the company behind graze.com, it is clear that the SME economy is vibrant, ambitious and a source of some of London’s most impressive management teams.

It certainly makes me proud to work in London.

We hope that everyone has a great evening and, of course, we wish the best of luck to all those shortlisted. Whether you win or lose, your growth journey so far has no doubt been a thrilling ride and your success thoroughly deserved.
