In June 2018 LDC made an investment in Linley & Simpson to support its expansion.
The deal sees LDC back the existing management team with a £10m investment to drive its acquisition strategy as well as support technology developments to enhance its focus on delivering the best possible service to landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers.
Just three months after the deal, Linley & Simpson took over the letting portfolios of both Leeds-headquartered Hitchen & Co and McCartney Lettings, located at Bishopthorpe village in York.
In October 2018 Linley & Simpson continued its acquisition trail with the acquisition of the long-established Angus Roberts letting agency in Ilkley.
Just one month after the acquisition of Angus Roberts, the business acquired the residential sales and lettings business of Ilkley-headquartered Dale Eddison - crowned the UK’s Best Small Agency in the industry’s Oscars earlier in the year. The deal has resulted in Linley & Simpson buying Dale Eddison’s five offices - located in Ilkley, Otley, Guiseley, Silsden and Skipton – to extend its presence across the sought-after Wharfe and Aire Valleys.
In November 2018 LDC’s £10m investment in Linley & Simpson won ‘Deal of the Year (£5m - £25m)’ at the Yorkshire Dealmaker Awards.
In July 2019 Linley & Simpson's acquisition journey continued with the completion of its biggest acquisition to date with another leading independent agency in Yorkshire, Morgans, just a couple of months later the business expanded into Humberside for the first time after acquiring the lettings arm of another well-established agency, Beercocks in Hull. This acquisition is the 9th to take place since Linley & Simpson secured the backing of LDC.
