LDC's
portfolio comprises over 60 companies in which we have invested
over £700million. The aggregate value of the portfolio is estimated
in excess of £2billion. There is a broad sector spread
across the portfolio, covering in particular manufacturing,
retail, support services, IT, retail and pharmaceuticals.

Andrew McMurray - Portfolio Director
Secretary: Georgina Eager - 020 7518 6860.
Background: Having completed a Law Degree at Kings College London, Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst and Whinney. He joined Hill Samuel in 1986 and has specialised in portfolio work since 1991. He joined LDC in 1998.
Hobbies: Andrew enjoys cycling, snorkelling, sailing, and travel.

Andy Leach - Portfolio Director

Background: Andy is a mathematics graduate of Oxford University. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountantwith Coopers & Lybrand, Andy joined Byvest,an Australian based private equity fund. On returning to the UK he spent10 years with 3i in Manchester. After two years with Montagu Capital Andy joined LDC in September 2004.
Hobbies: Andy enjoys playing golf, all forms of sport - especially rugby - and spending time with his family.

Nick Bacon - Senior Director

Background: Nick's career in Venture Capital started in 1984 when he joined County Natwest in Birmingham. Following six successful years with County he moved to LDC in 1990. Over the last four years he has specialised on working with portfolio companies.
Hobbies: Nick enjoys tennis, golf and racquetball.

Steve Harrison - Director

Background: Steve graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Engineering and then spent his early career in a number of engineering and manufacturing business. Having run several such businesses he then moved into the private equity world, spending six years with NVM, before going freelance with multiple non-exec and interim roles. He has spent much of the last 20 years devising and implementing turnaround plans for underperforming businesses.
Hobbies: When not working Steve is usually to be found gasping over various hilltops as an ardent but slow fell runner.
