Our team - management team

LDC also has a number of important support functions – they include Finance, IT, Marketing, Special Projects and Operations. Details of the key individuals managing these functions are provided below.

Darryl Eales

Darryl Eales - Chief Executive Officer

Secretary: Cheryl Cooper - 020 7316 2481.

Background: Darryl joined LDC in 1987 and has been Chief Executive since 2003. He has a first class degree in accountancy and economics from Birmingham University, is a Chartered Accountant and has spent 25 years in the Corporate Finance arena. He is the Chairman of LDC's Investment Committee and sits on board of a number of LDC's significant investments.

Hobbies: Attempting to keep up with his two daughters (17 and 15!), wine collecting and consuming, golf, tennis and he is a long-term supporter of Birmingham City FC.

Patrick Sellers

Patrick Sellers - Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Secretary: Georgina Eager - 020 7518 6860.

Background: After university Patrick joined Courtalds and spent four years with them before leaving to attend London Business School where he gained an MBA in 1987. In the same year he joined LDC, became Regional Managing Director for the South in 1999 and was appointed Deputy Managing Director, with specific responsibility for the LDC portfolio and divestments, in January 2003.

Hobbies: Patrick enjoys motorcycling, squash and travel.

Candida Morley

Candida Morley - Chief Operating Officer

Secretary: Georgina Eager - 020 7518 6860.

Background: Candida has a Law Degree from Oxford and a Masters Degree in Small Business, together with extensive experience in investment banking / M&A (with Barings), venture capital (at 3i) and corporate development within a large plc (Harrisons & Crosfield). She joined LDC in 2000.

Hobbies: Candida enjoys spending time with her family, good food and anything else that can be fitted in around these!

Rob Macarthur

Rob Macarthur - Director of Finance

Secretary: Jennifer Davis - 0207 518 6827.

Background: Having gained a Degree in Management Sciences from Manchester University, Robert qualified as a Certified Accountant. Robert joined LDC as an accountant in 1995 and now heads up the Finance Team, producing both the statutory and internal reporting requirements for LDC, dealing with tax issues and providing deal support to investment executives.

Hobbies: Robert is married with three young children, which takes up most of his spare time. His other interests are holidays and food.

Richard Davies

Richard Davies - Head of IT

Secretary: Jennifer Davis - 0207 518 6827.

Background: Richard joined LDC in 1997 and after 10 years with LDC is now Head of ITC. Prior to joining LDC Richard worked with Kent County Constabulary and developed their IT system and support infrastructure. He has obtained a BA (Hons) Business Studies and an MSC in Information Management at University.

Hobbies: His interests include spending time with his family, watching rugby, running, and traveling.

Rob Pendleton

Rob Pendleton - Marketing Director

Marketing

Secretary: Sophie Reed - 0117 905 5322.

Background: Rob joined LDC in 2003 following a six-year spell with Lloyds TSB Corporate. Previous new business and marketing roles were held with Lloyds Bowmaker (Corporate, Consumer, and Home Improvement Division) during an eleven-year term. Rob specialises in B2B and B2C financial services marketing.

Hobbies: Rob’s main hobby is his family but when allowed out enjoys golf (badly), football and skiing.

Andrew Sandars

Andrew Sandars - Head of Legal & Risk Management

Secretary: Jo Everett - 0118 952 2202.

Background: Andrew's post-qualification legal career began at Travers Smith in 1996 where he was in the Private Equity group until 1999. After a short spell doing sports law he joined Doughty Hanson, a pan-European private equity firm, as in-house counsel in 2000. After 7 exciting years there, Andrew joined LDC in August 2007 to take up his current role.

Hobbies: Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, music, food and wine and is a keen cyclist, sailor and skier.
