Grant Berry - Managing Director

Background: After ten years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and since joining LDC, Grant has been involved in a wide variety of transactions including the management buy outs of Christy Home Textiles, FH Brown, Ethel Austin, HFS Group and Mersey Television. Grant became Regional Director for the North in August 2003, Head of New Business in August 2004 and has recently taken up the Managing Director position covering Scotland and the newly formed Deal Origination Team.

Hobbies: Grant enjoys golf, cricket, rugby and family.

Carl Wormald - Director

Background: Carl graduated with a First Class Accounting & Finance Degree before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Following five years at KPMG he worked with Capita Corporate Finance for a further two years where he was responsible for the M&A advisory practice. He joined LDC in 2001.

Hobbies: Carl is a keen golfer and enjoys most sports.

Jonathan Bell - Investment Director

Background: Jonathan graduated with a Degree in Finance from Manchester University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He subsequently spent six years in Corporate Finance at Andersen's and latterly Deloitte & Touche where he has advised on a number of buy and sell-side transactions in the £5m-£150m range. Jonathan joined LDC in 2006.

Hobbies: Jonathan enjoys most sports, particularly golf, football and cricket.

Mark Freer - Director

Background: Mark joined LDC in December 1997, following a number of years with Coopers & Lybrand, during which he led a variety of MBO transactions in a wide range of industry sectors. Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a Management Degree from Loughborough University.

Hobbies: Mark enjoys golf, tennis and football.

Ray Stenton - Investment Director

Background: Ray graduated with a Degree in Business Economics before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in their Audit and Business Advisory department. He then spent over six years in Corporate Finance at Andersen’s and latterly Deloitte & Touche. Ray joined LDC in August 2003.

Hobbies: Ray enjoys swimming, playing golf, fitness training, watching football and playing the guitar.

Stuart Layzell - Investment Director

Background: After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, Stuart focused on M&A lead advisory work in both the UK and the US. In 2000, Stuart moved into an operational role, running the European operations in the UK, Poland, Holland and Sweden for a US based company. He joined LDC in December 2004.

Hobbies: Stuart enjoys all sports, especially rugby and golf, cooking and spending time with his family.
