London Marathon 2008
Can we raise £250,000?
 Following the success of last years LDC team completing the London Marathon, LDC are proud that a team of 67 are already in preparation to run this year's 26.2 mile Flora London Marathon which takes place on 13th April 2008.
The staggering amount of £80,000 was raised in 2007 through the generosity of our friends and supporters across the UK for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ("JDRF"). This year we would like to raise £250,000!
By way of background, JDRF exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes. It funds research that will one day help children live without a lifetime of blood tests and insulin injections and is currently funding a study developing a groundbreaking new way of automatically administering insulin, a system known as the 'artificial pancreas' enabling children to achieve normal blood glucose control and reduce the risk of developing the devastating complications later in life.
The LDC team consists of 39 employees of LDC and 27 friends and family participants both from within LDC, within the Lloyds TSB Group and from several of our investee companies.
Whilst our aim is to triple the amount raised in 2007 we hope you appreciate that every penny donated is welcomed with open arms and gratefully received and all funds raised will be matched £ for £ by LDC and the executives of LDC. Any support, however large or small, will go 100%, without deduction to the nominated charities and will contribute significantly to a number of worthy beneficiaries.
