The transaction to acquire Showcard, a leading UK point-of-sale display advertising business, completed in April 2012.
The business was acquired from its listed parent company, Havelock Europa Plc, with LDC backing the incumbent management team.
Showcard has full in-house capability to deliver everything from the largest format window and floor vinyls and posters to items as small as business cards, printed on a variety of materials using its modern digital, litho and screen printing capabilities.
The company also has a sophisticated internet based fulfilment system, which facilitates delivery of a bespoke package of display materials to multiple stores of a customer, nationwide, often with only a few days of lead time for any given customer order.
The company operates from modern premises in Letchworth in Hertforshire, and following the transaction, took a lease on a new 30,000 sq. ft premises to facilitate expansion. In addition to this new premises, significant sums have been committed to facilitate the acquisition of new printing and finishing equipment to allow the business to increase its capacity.
