In April 2006 LDC invested £8million in Kylmar, a high technology designer and manufacturer of specialist electro-optical systems used by military and local governments the world over.
In June 2010 LDC exited in a strategic trade sale to General Dynamics UK Ltd.
The Andover-based business develops surveillance and reconnaissance equipment used in military intelligence, counter-terrorism and border surveillance operations.
Kylmar is ISO9001:2000 approved and has the necessary approvals to operate at the highest level of military security.
The original transaction gave LDC a significant stake in the business and provided Kylmar with the investment capital required to expand operations, marketing and manufacturing in key countries.
