The Midlands team has been central to LDC's evolution over the years and encompasses the Birmingham and Nottingham offices. This region has completed over 130 transactions since the first office opened in 1987, investing over £740million of equity.
The current team has a wealth of experience in a number of business sectors but, as you would expect, are extremely knowledgeable about industrial businesses - ranging from specialist engineering companies to source and supply distributors of engineering products. However the team's focus remains on transacting deals which support good quality management teams in whichever sector they trade.
Over the last five years, the award-winning team have completed 40 transactions supporting these businesses with over £450million of equity, and also completed a number of successful strategic exits producing over £160million capital gains. This level of activity has confirmed not only LDC’s continued appetite in the region but has established the team as the leading player in the region.
In 2012, LDC Birmingham, with the support of the local community were awarded ‘Private Equity Firm of the Year’ at the Insider Midlands Dealmakers Awards and in 2013, the LDC Nottingham team were awarded ‘Funding Team of the Year’ at the East Midlands Insider Awards.
