As part of our contribution to the communities within which we operate LDC looks to support a number of individuals and organisations in their quest for individual and team success. The relationship between business activity, community endeavours and personal development is at the heart of LDC. It is embodied in our Charter and guides many of our activities.

LDC focus in this arena is on the development of potential, be it an individual or team level. The lessons learnt at an early age about teamwork, determination, focus, appetite, and achievement stay with individuals throughout their lives.

It is for this reason that we have chosen to work with Scottish Athletics on the LDC Club First programme. This project, aimed at club level athletics, is supporting the development of a number of athletic clubs, youngsters who show a desire to take part in athletics, and volunteers who wish to increase their coaching skills.

Mark Beaumont, our first LDC ambassador, is another example of supporting an individual who has a strong determination to overcome the mental and physical obstacles that he encounters during his endurance projects.
