Hollybank Trust cares for some of the most vulnerable people in society, children and adults with profound disabilities and complex learning needs. Hollybank is based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire but provides such a specialised service that it looks after young people from all over the UK.

Since 2006, LDC has been at the forefront of support for Hollybank, raising over £80,000 from events that have included quiz nights and golf days along with fundraising initiatives instigated by members of staff. In this short time a fabulous £80,000 has been raised by LDC in support of the Trust. This has provided a massive boost to funds and in particular has helped to make our latest community housing project for young adults, Rowan Court a reality.

Rowan Court will be home to 15 of the young people at Hollybank. It has been built to the highest standards and specially designed to accommodate the needs of its new tenants. It was desperately needed as without it the young people would have been faced with leaving the Trust and could find themselves living in residential or care institutions with elderly people. This is a horrifying prospect for a young person between 18 and 30 years old.

The residents are currently settling in to Rowan Court and enjoying their fabulous new home where they can feel safe and secure for life. This would not have been possible without the support of committed organisations like LDC. All their fundraising activities have really paid off and for the residents at Rowan Court, their future and home is now secure.
