Camp Mohawk

Since 2006, LDC in the South has supported Camp Mohawk and have raised over £50,000 for this worthwhile cause.

Each year in the Spring of 2007-9 LDC has organised a day when volunteers from the local business community come together to work with the volunteers on preparing the site for the Summer visitors. This has involved a variety of tasks (see images) that has helped to regenerate the camp.

It is based in Wargrave, Berkshire, and is a multi-functional day centre for special needs children, set in four acres of countryside. Throughout the year the centre provides a range of activities, facilities and natural space to encourage children with a variety of special needs to play, socialise and learn in a secure and caring environment. The centre houses a heated swimming pool, workshop rooms, play pens, sensory rooms and animal pens.
