Children's Hospice Association Scotland

Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), based in Edinburgh is LDC Scotland's regional charity. With LDC's Edinburgh office opening in 2008 and its Aberdeen office in 2009, they have been supporting CHAS since 2008.

CHAS was established to provide hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The hospices provide professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day of acceptance, to the death of their child, and beyond.

Rachel House in Kincross, Scotland's first children's hospice, opened in March 1996. Robin House in Balloch opened in August 2005. Both hospices are purpose built and each can provide ongoing support for up to 200 families across Scotland each year.

In May 2009, Gillian Williamson, PA and Office Manager for LDC Scotland raised over £1,400 for CHAS when she completed the Edinburgh Marathon in just 3 hours 58 minutes (see image).
